Consult your health care professional before using Thermotex if you have any of
the following:

          Malignancy (including skin lesions)
          Circulatory diseases

If you are using any prescription drugs, check with your physician or pharmacist
for any drug interaction with infrared energy (Important for patients who are on
monitored drug levels)

If you have a recent (acute) joint injury please ask your health care professional when
Infrared Therapy can be initiated.  If you have a joint or joints that a re chronically
hot and swollen, these joints may respond poorly to vigorous heating of any kind. Vigorous
heating is strictly contraindicated in cases of enclosed infections be they dental, in joints
or in any other tissues.

Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or any other surgical implants generally reflect infrared
rays and thus are not heated by this system, nevertheless you should consult your surgeon prior
to using Thermotex --- Discontinue Thermotex use if you experience pain near any such implants.

Silicone has been found to absorb infrared energy.  Implanted silicone or silicone prostheses
for nose or ear replacement may be warmed by the infrared rays.  Since silicone melts at over
100 degrees F it should not be adversely affected by Infrared Thermal System use.  It is still advised that you check with your health care professional.

If you have diabetes mellitus, poor circulation or any unusual skin condition, you may be more
sensitive to heat, and you should always contact your medical doctor before using your Thermotex or any other heat delivery product.  Always start with a lower heat setting and use it for shorter periods of time, slowly building up to the recommended time.

If you are taking corticosteroids, you may experience some redness of the skin. Should you
experience redness, we  recommend that you discontinue the use of your Thermotex pad until
you have completed your medication.  Should your redness continue, contact your health care
professional.

Hemophiliacs and anyone predisposed to hemorrhage should avoid Infrared usage or any type of
of heating that would induce vasodiliation  which can potentate the tendency to bleed.

NOTE: This is a guideline only and not intended to replace a health care professionals advise.
Should your condition worsen, please contact your health care professional.

KNOW THIS:  We always inserted the above information (one page) into the Thermotex box as we prepared it for shipment.  Two days ago, a customer phoned and said:  "Mike -- I just received the Thermotex ---- I only opened the box and read the page that says":

WHEN THERMOTEX INFRARED SHOULD NOT BE USED

I see that it mentions LUPUS -- and I have both types.  So, I can't use it.  Know that I only opened the box.  --- have not done anything else.  I authorized the return for credit.  He also sent me an email to that effect and that he was sending it back.

That is why I am typing all of the above and will place it in a link to the THERMOTEX web site
and additional information -- SO YOU KNOW IT BEFORE YOU PURCHASE.

In nearly 4 years --  this has never happened --- we've never heard from anyone nor have I seen anything else elsewhere.   Maybe I'm being too informative?  Possibly, but I'd  rather do that
than to not have you know this -- just in case.  (will check typos "soon as time permits")
